Robert Krol
Robert Krol is an emeritus professor of economics at California State University, Northridge; a Senior Affiliated Scholar for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University; and a member of the Heartland Institute’s Board of Policy Advisors.  He also worked as an economist at Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles and the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, California.  He received his PhD in economics from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1982. His current research focuses on regulation, transportation infrastructure issues, international trade & investment, and the impact of economic policy uncertainty on the economy.  His research has been published in leading economics journals, including the Review of Economics and StatisticsJournal of EconometricsJournal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban EconomicsInternational Finance, and Journal of International Money and Financ.  He has published policy papers for the Cato Institute, Center for Growth & Opportunity at Utah State University, and Mercatus Center. He has also published opinion articles in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Times, the Cleveland Plain DealerInvestor’s Business DailyU.S. News and World ReportThe HillReal Clear MarketsReal Clear Policyeconomics21, and National Review Online.
