Matthew Mittelsteadt is a technologist and research fellow at the Mercatus Center. His work focuses on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and decentralized finance policy. Matthew’s work has been featured in American Banker, The Hill and The New York Daily Post. Before joining Mercatus, Matthew was a fellow at the Institute for Security, Policy and Law at Syracuse University, where he researched emerging technology policy. Matthew has private sector experience as an IT project manager and has led several major IT transitions. Matthew holds an MS in Cybersecurity from New York University, an MPA from Syracuse University and a BA in both Russian and Economics from St. Olaf College.
