Jerzy Gruszczyński is a retired colonel in the Polish Air Force, where he flew a variety of jet fighters. Following the crash of a Su-20 he was piloting in 1991, he attended the National Defense Academy, where he earned a MA studying the evolution of multi-role combat aircraft and was retained by the school as a teacher. He has served as the deputy chief editor of the monthly magazine of the Polish Ministry of Defense. After his retirement in 2007, Jerzy has served as chief editor of other aviation publications.
